I was warned about Tristan Cole.
“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”
It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.
But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.
We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.
Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

My Review
“She was the simply air I breathed”.
—Tristan.
This was another book that broke my heart, but healed me at the same time. To be honest, right now my mind and feelings are all over the place.
I knew this book was going to sink deep in me. I wasn't prepared for it, though. I just had finished another book that left me heartbroken and I wasn't sure if I could handle this one.
Maybe I have some tears in my cheeks while I'm writing this, let me tell you. I cried at every part of this book, but while my tears were for sadness, happiness was present too.
“Sometimes the hardest part of existing without your loved ones was remembering how to breath”
This is another one, that I'm not sure if I can write about it without tell you the whole story.
There are books that are so perfect, so bright and happy, there are others a little dark but with so much meaning. There are books with a deep message, maybe the author wrote it without an intention or maybe she was thinking about you... Reading and crying, being happy or angry... but also learning something that could change your life. I think this was one of those books... A little of everything.
Books just aren't books. We keep repeating to ourselves those words monotonically sometimes, but the truth behind them is deepest than the ocean... And Brittainy remembered me that again.
Here we see two lives, suffering, hurting, healing, trying to move on beyond their grief, surviving every. Single. Day. Failing, but also succeeding. And discovering that in pain exist healing, while you cry exist happiness too, and while you move on —something that is step by step— you find yourself again, and maybe someone, to trust and love... Someone who can return your soul to your body.
“Her touch healed me, her love saved me. She was more than any words could ever convey”.
This book was everything. Is everything. And I know I won't forget this book. Ever.
“I love you,” I whispered. She smiled in her dreams. Because she already knew.
